Who We Are

We are The Joi N Beautie, a single-location hair studio in Texas owned and operated by Joi as a sole proprietor. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you book or visit us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We use a booking system to manage our online appointments; the system processes your information on our behalf.

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

What We Collect

When you book with us we collect:

• Your first and last name
• A US phone number we can reach you at
• Your email address (optional — only if you give it to us)
• Your birthday month and day (optional — only if you'd like a birthday perk)
• Your appointment history with us (service booked, date and time, amount paid)
• Payment confirmations from Stripe when you pay by card (see Payments below)

We do not collect a Social Security number, driver's license, or other sensitive government identifiers.

Health information: If you share allergy, scalp condition, or other health-related information with us at intake, we treat it with extra care. It is used only to perform your service safely and is never shared with third parties except as required by law.

Cookies & Tracking

The booking site does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. Essential session behavior (such as keeping your form state while you book) may use browser storage, but we do not track you across other websites or build advertising profiles.

How We Use It

• Confirm and schedule your appointment
• Contact you about your booking if we need to reach you
• Keep a record of services you've received so we can serve you better next time
• Process payments
• Send you a birthday note, if you chose to share your birthday with us
• Email you salon news, such as price changes or holiday closures. Every email has an unsubscribe link
• Text you salon updates and offers, only if you opted in (see SMS Messages below)
• Maintain records required for our taxes or other legal obligations

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for targeted advertising or automated decision-making.

Payments

Card payments (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) are processed by Stripe. When you pay by card, Stripe receives and processes your payment details under Stripe's Privacy Policy. We do not store your full card number. Stripe sends us a payment confirmation and the amount, which we keep with your appointment record.

If you choose a Buy Now, Pay Later option (such as Affirm, Klarna, Afterpay, or Zip), you complete the application on your own device with that provider. They process the information you give them under their own privacy policy and decide whether to approve you; we receive only a confirmation that the payment succeeded and the amount. We also accept Cash and Zelle in the studio.

Data Sharing

We share your information only when necessary to serve you, run our business, or comply with the law:

• Our booking system — powers our online booking
• Stripe — our payment processor for card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay
• Resend — delivers our emails
• Twilio — delivers our text messages, only to clients who opted in
• Buy Now, Pay Later providers (Affirm, Klarna, Afterpay, Zip) — only if you choose to pay that way, to process your application
• Our accountant or tax advisor — where required for our business records
• Government authorities — if required by a valid legal request

We do not sell your information. We may use aggregate, de-identified data (data that cannot identify you personally) for business analysis; such data is not subject to this policy.

Retention

We keep your contact information and appointment history for as long as you remain a client and for a reasonable period afterward in case you return. Payment and tax records are kept for the period required by Texas and federal tax law (generally up to seven years). You can ask us to delete information sooner, subject to records we are required to keep.

Your Rights

Texas residents may ask us to:

• See what personal information we have about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your information, subject to records we are required to keep by law

We do not sell personal data, use targeted advertising, or make automated decisions that affect you legally — so those opt-out rights do not currently apply to us.

To make a request: Email info@ertechsolutions.us with your name, the phone number or email on your account, and what you are requesting. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before we can act on your request.

We will never penalize you or treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Our booking platform encrypts data in transit, your card details are handled entirely by Stripe, and access to your records is limited to Joi and anyone who needs it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information with the care it deserves.

External Links

Our booking site may contain links to third-party sites such as Stripe. Once you leave our site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will post the updated version here and update the effective date. Where practical, we will notify you via the contact information on file before material changes take effect.
